Autumn 26
September sees a quieter month with the return of my work from Edinburgh, Ryde and Ventnor. Starting on 19th however is ‘The Great Nurdle Exhibition’ in the Clayden Gallery at the Quay Arts Centre in Newport, Isle of Wight. This is an exciting exhibition drawing attention to the harmful micro plastics in our water systems with particular attention to these nurdles in our oceans and seas. I am delighted my polar ice caps have been included in this exhibition.

Meanwhile in my workshop and just about anywhere else I can sit for a few minutes I am stitching (but what’s new?!)
After three weeks working on the side edge of a circular embroidery titled ‘The Small Local Town’, I abandoned it. Starting again sometimes is the best decision and on this occasion that’s exactly what it was.
I have started the third of four large hoops titled ‘Balance – Imbalance- Deterioration- Disintegration’. It has been on the back burner while I concentrated on ‘The Town’. The lovely thing about having several things on the go at the same time is that I can return to something refreshed.
Still relatively new are the stitched balls, well actually wound balls at the moment, the stitching will come later. With these I hope to convey human relationship with nature, both past and present.
