Equinox and Solstice

May has been a busy month with my embroidery in exhibitions East, South, North and West.

The first small artwork was part of an exhibition celebrating Spring Equinox at Fox Yard Studios in Stowmarket, Norfolk at the end of March and I was delighted it stopped on to be included in ‘Textile Explorations’ at the beginning of May.

A pair titled ‘Summer Solstice’ is currently part of the Open Studios Showcase exhibition at the Quay Arts here on the Isle of Wight until the end of May.

In the North I have two small embroideries ‘Exploring New Worlds – Wasp & Snail’ awaiting the start of ‘Waiting to Exhale’ exhibition in the Dollhouse at the House of Smalls in Edinburgh.

In the West my ‘Oil and Fire’ 3D embroidery (see gallery) was selected for ‘the Stitch that Bit Back’ exhibition which is part of the Fringe Arts Festival in Bath from 23rd May – 6th June

Last but not least my open studio was on 15th, 16th, 17th May. It was one of those years when everything was just right. Apologies to the lovely visitors who let me prattle on about my art!

Meanwhile I am making progress on the second of four large circles, ‘Imbalance’. Having completed ‘Balance’ I still have ‘Deterioration’ and ‘Disintegration’ to look forward if that is not a contradiction!

See Events on this website for more details.
